TEN GREAT NON MUSLIM QUOTES
“I wanted to know the best of the life
of one who holds today an undisputed
sway over the hearts of millions of
mankind… I became more than ever
convinced that it was not the sword
that won a place for Islam in those
days in the scheme of life. It was the
rigid simplicity, the utter self-
effacement of the Prophet the
scrupulous regard for pledges, his
intense devotion to his friends and
followers, his intrepidity, his
fearlessness, his absolute trust in God
and in his own mission. These and not
the sword carried everything before
them and surmounted every obstacle.
When I closed the second volume (of
the Prophet’s biography), I was sorry
there was not more for me to read of
that great life.” – Mahatma Gandhi
“The Islamic teachings have left great
traditions for equitable and gentle
dealings and behavior, and inspire
people with nobility and tolerance.
These are human teachings of the
highest order and at the same time
practicable. These teachings brought
into existence a society in which hard-
heartedness and collective oppression
and injustice were the least as
compared with all other societies
preceding it….Islam is replete with
gentleness, courtesy, and fraternity.” –
H.G. Wells
“Islam is a religion of success. Unlike
Christianity, which has as its main
image, in the west at least, a man
dying in a devastating, disgraceful,
helpless death… Mohammed was not
an apparent failure. He was a dazzling
success, politically as well as
spiritually, and Islam went from
strength to strength to strength.” –
Karen Armstrong
“… since September 11th event, in
many occasion I always come forth,
with a defense of Islam. Islam like any
other major tradition. I think the very
praising Allah means love, infinite love,
compassion, like that. I understand
Islam, they usually carry rosary, all 99
beads, different name of Allah, all refer
compassion, or these positive things.”
– Dalai Lama
“Islam brings hope and comfort to
millions of people in my country, and
to more than a billion people
worldwide. Ramadan is also an
occasion to remember that Islam gave
birth to a rich civilization of learning
that has benefited mankind.” – George
W. Bush

“Love Sufism …’the divinity of the
human soul… Within Our spiritual heart
there is a direct connection to God… I
have respect for all faiths. All faiths.
But what I’m talking about is not faith
or religion. I’m talking about
spirituality.” – Oprah Winfrey
“… the religiosity of Muslims deserves
respect. It is impossible not to admire,
for example, their fidelity to prayer.
The image of believers in Allah who,
without caring about time or place, fall
to their knees and immerse themselves
in prayer remains a model for all those
who invoke the true God, in particular
for those Christians who, having
deserted their magnificent cathedrals,
pray only a little or not at all.” – Pope
John Paul II
“It was the first religion that preached
and practiced democracy; for, in the
mosque, when the call for prayer is
sounded and worshippers are gathered
together, the democracy of Islam is
embodied five times a day when the
peasant and king kneel side by side
and proclaim: ‘God Alone is Great’… “
– Sarojini Naidu
“I have been struck […] by the human
and moral values which Americans as
a people share with Islam. We share,
first and foremost, a deep faith in the
one Supreme Being. We are all
commanded by Him to faith,
compassion, and justice. We have a
common respect and reverence for law.
Despite the strains of the modern age,
we continue to place special
importance on the family and the
home. And we share a belief that
hospitality is a virtue and that the
host, whether a nation or an
individual, should behave with
generosity and honor toward guests.
On the basis of both values and
interests, the natural relationship
between Islam and the United States is
one of friendship. I affirm that
friendship, both as a reality and as a
goal […] [and] am determined to
strengthen, not weaken, the
longstanding and valued bonds of
friendship and cooperation between
the United States and many Muslim
nations.” – Jimmy Carter
“The legislation of Quran will spread
all over the world, because it agrees
with the mind, logic and wisdom.” –

DR. ZAKIR NAIK Q&A 12
Q. Are there any common errors you can mention relationship to culture and country?
All the errors i mentioned earlier were general for Muslims throughout the world. There are certain errors by people living in certain country, belonging to certain culture. For example – in the Indian Subcontinent, these are people living in India, in Pakistan, in SriLanka. During Ramadan many Muslims play night cricket and they spend most of the time in night cricket rather than doing ibaadah of Allah subhanwatala. So playing night cricket is more common in Indian sub-continent. If you go to the Arab countries, especially the gulf countries there many of the working places and offices they change their timings, they hardly work for couple of hours in the day time and they open most of the times during night. So what happens it encourages the people to do shopping in the night rather than the day and they get more business and they are inviting people rather than spending time in remembering Allah subhanwatala, Muslims spend their time in shopping, in eating during night time. Further more those people who are employed in these shops are forced to come.

DR. ZAKIR NAIK Q&A 11 ABOUT RAMADAN
Q. (Yusuf Chambers): What is your
particular advice for Ramadan
approaching us?
A. (Dr Zakir): My advice would be that every
Muslim he or she should make it a point that
they should make a resolution that they
should fast each and every day of this blessed
month of Ramadan. And we should try and
acquire all the benefits of this month and we
should not waste a single benefit of this
month on things that are trivial and try to
concentrate as much as possible in
remembering Allah subhanwatala. We should
try and look for his mercy, we should try to
ask for his forgiveness, we have to try to seek
for his love and we have to try to increase out
piety and our righteousness and our patience
and our beloved prophet Muhammad (peace
be upon him) said “Anyone who does not
leave the false actions and false speech Allah
subhanwatala does not care if he leaves his
eating and drinking”. That means if a person
does not abstain from false actions and false
speech Allah swt does not care if he abstains
from food and drink, that means fasting will
not be accepted unless you stay away from
false actions and false speech and our beloved
prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
said, “O people the blessed month of Ramadan
is approaching and Allah has ordained for you
that you fast on this month and the gates of
heaven will be opened in this month and gates
of hell will be closed and the devils will be
chained, and in this month is a night that is
better than a thousand months and if a person
is deprived of the blessing in this month, he is
truly a deprived person” . So we have to make
it a point we gain the benefits of this blessed
month, our beloved prophet Muhammad
(peace be upon him) said that “Anyone who
fasts in this month with faith seeking the
reward of Allah subhanwatala, all his past sins
will be forgiven” that means if we truly with
sincerity fast in this month all out past sins
will be forgiven. Imagine it is such an easy
way to have our sins forgiven of the past. Also
our beloved prophet Muhammad (peace be
upon him) said… it is a long hadith, basically
consisting of four points…he said, “All children
of Adam, all the deeds they do are for
themselves except for fasting, fasting is for
me and I will reward him”. And he further said
that “Fasting is a shield, it prevents you from
sin and the person who observe the fast must
abstain from obscenity and yelling and from
ignorance and if someone yells at him or
abuses him he should say – I am fasting, I am
fasting”. Third point our beloved prophet
Muhammad (peace be upon him) said “that I
swear by Allah who’s hand is the soul of
Muhammad (peace be upon him) that the
breath of a fasting person is sweeter to Allah
than the smell of the musk”. And he finally
said in the hadith that “There are two things
when a fasting person is happy and looks
forward to it, first when he breaks the fast and
second is when he meets Allah subhanwatala ”.
It is written in Quran in Surah Noor Ch-24
V-31, it says “O you who believe, truly have
faith in Allah and seek the bliss” i.e. try to
enter jannah. It is mentioned in Surah Ahqaaf
Ch-46 V-13,14 that “Those are the people
who worship none but Allah and they are
steadfast in faith” . The word is
‘istaqaam’ …”and there is only one Allah and
no one else and they shall not have any fear
nor shall they grieve, these are the people who
are the people of paradise and they shall be
rewarded for all the good they have done”. So
this is the advice for the people that they
should take the best of this month and they
should not spend their time in trivial things
and spend their time in worshipping Allah and
remembering Allah subhanwatala and ask for
forgiveness.
DR. ZAKIR NAIK Q&A 10 ABOUT RAMADAN
Q. Are there any particular activities
for a Muslim should concentrate upon
during this blessed month of
Ramadan?
A. (Dr Zakir): Few important points are to be
noted is that no 1. Is the niyaah, niyaah is
very important. The niyaah (intention) for
fasting must be only for Allah subhanwatala
and for a fasting to be accepted niyaah is very
important. No 2 is observing the sunnah of
fast. One of the important sunnah is that we
should have sahoor as late as possible that is
just before break of dawn i.e. just before fajar
salaah and we should break our fast, have
iftaar as early as possible immediately after
sunset. Furthermore in this blessed month we
should be careful and we should avoid all
things which are prohibited, which are haraam
and things which are a makru (undesirable).
And this is the best opportunity for a person
that if he has certain activities which are
against the sahriyah (Islamic law), that they
are doing haraam activites or makru activities,
this is the best time they can abstain from it.
And which be a good habit which he may
abstain throughout his life. For example if a
person is habitually to drink alcohol, if he can
abstain from having alcohol from the break of
dawn to sunset, he can abstain from it from
the cradle to the grave. Similarly we should
take care we should abstain from things which
are makruh. For example it is makru to stand
and drink water and if we are habitual to that
then see to that in the month of Ramadan
while having water we should sit down, this is
the sunnah of the prophet (peace be upon
him). So it is a good month in which you can
abstain from the haraam activities which you
are doing or the makruh activities.
Furthermore it is a good time where you can
implement many of the sunnah of the prophet
(peace be upon him) in your day today life.
For example sporting a beard, many muslims
don’t have a beard, so it is a good month in
which you can follow the sunnah of the
prophet (peace be upon him). so this is a
good month in which you can adopt as much
as sunnah as possible so we can be on the
staright path. This is a very good month
where we should see to it that we should offer
the salaah, not only the five times salaah
which are the fardh but even try to offer as
many nawafil and sunnah and if you are not
habitual in reading in congregation see to it
you are in a congregation and as far as
possible go to the mosque for the salaah. In
this month you should be particular that you
do not miss the Taraweeh, many people think
that which is a fact that it is sunnah, we can
miss taraweeh, taraweeh is a very important
sunnah, though it is not a fardh but every
Muslim should make it a point that as far as
possible they should attend taraweeh because
of the blessings it has. So the taraweeh is very
important which the Muslim should never
miss. And when we offer taraweeh many of us
rush through the taraweeh because we want
to complete the Quran and many of them read
the taraweeh 100 miles per hour, we should
read the taraweeh with patience with
moderate pace so that people can understand
what is the commandment of Allah
subhanwatala. And that if time permits if
possible we should try to do itakaaf in the last
ten days and while doing itakaaf we make it a
point that we dont socialise, many people
make a mistake of socialising during itakaaf,
the whole purpose of itakaaf gets defeated.
Furthermore we should do more supplications,
this is the month of dua, and we should do
more dhikr, spend time in remember Allah
subhanwatala and also worshipping him, this
is the month in which we must try and read as
much as Quran as possible, besides reading
the Quran in Arabic, if you know Arabic as a
language then there is no problem but if you
don’t know then also read the translation of
the a Quran in the language you understand
the best, if you understand in English, read in
English, if you understand urdu then read in
Urdu. Read it in the language you understand
the best. So along with reading in Arabic for
which you get the sawaab (rewards) also read
the translation of the Quran so that you can
implement on guidance of Allah subhanwatala.
If possible read the complete Quran once in
every 7 seven days, or atleast read 1 Juz
everyday so that you complete the Quran
atleast once in the full month of Ramadan. In
this month try to read as much as Hadith as
possible but see to it that you read the
authentic hadith. And the best book on hadith
is the book of Sahih Al-Bukhari then Sahih Al-
Muslim, you can read qutub-suta also but
read authentic books on hadith. Read books
on lifestyle and seerah of Prophet Muhammad
(peace be upon him) also. See to it that if
you have not given the zakat then give the
zakat which is an obligatory charity and every
rich person who has the saving more than the
nisaab level, i.e. more than 85 grams of gold
he/she should give 2.5 % of his/her saving
every lunar year in charity i.e. Zakat. And
many people do not calculate the zakat
properly. You make it a point that you
calculate the zakat honestly and it is better to
given little bit more rather than give less. And
this month of Ramadan is the month of
generosity, it is the month of sadaqa. And you
get 10 times more reward of your good deeds.
Thus this is the month we should do
maximum charity and we should give more
time to our family. Many a time we neglect
our family, we see to it that we give more time
to our family and do all these activities
collectively. We should also have Husne-
Salooq with the people around you i.e. we
should deal with other human beings with
mercy, with love, with care, if they have done
some mistake, forgive them, this is the month
of forgiveness. If you have done something
wrong, ask for forgiveness. We should do
tuffaqul i.e. ponder on the things, see to it you
plan the month of Ramadan properly and see
to it that you do not waste not even a minute
not even a second. This is the month of
cleaning. And this month is month of self-
improvement also and besides that we should
make it a point to do islaah to other Muslim
brothers and sisters. It is also the best month
to do dawah i.e. convey the message of islam
to the non-muslims. So my request to
brothers and sisters is to plan your month
efficiently and see to it that you utilize every
second of this blessed month.
DR. ZAKIR NAIK Q&A 9 ABOUT RAMADAN
Q. What was the preparation of
Prophet Muhammad (SAW) to
welcome Ramadan?
A. There is hadith in sahih al bukhari (vol. 3
book of fasting, hadith 1969) “aisha (r. a)
related that the prophet (saw) never fasted a
complete month except in Ramadan and he
didn’t fast in any month as many days as he
fasted in the month of shabaan” thus from
this hadith we come to know that prophet
(saw ) used to welcome or prepare for the
month of Ramadan by fasting many days in
the previous month, i.e. the month of
shabaan. And further if you read in Tirmidhi
(Book of supplications, Hadith 5431) which
says that Talha (r.a) says on the authority of
his father that whenever the prophet (saw)
saw the new moon he always used to pray to
Allah (swt) and say “O Allah bless us in this
month (and he used to mention the name of
the month) keep us stead fast in faith in this
month. This is how prophet (saw) used to
pray to Allah (swt) whenever he used to see
the new moon. It wasn’t specifically only for
the new moon of the Ramadan but it was for
all the new moons he used to see. He used to
mention about coming of this blessed month
to the people. Prophet (saw) addressed the
people in hadith (Musanad Ahmad, vol 2,
page 230, hadith 7148) “O people this blessed
month is approaching you and Allah (swt) has
ordained on you to fast in this month. Gates of
the heaven will be opened in this month and
gates of hell will be closed and the devil will
be chained, and in this month there is a night
which is better than a thousand months and
whosoever is deprived of Allah’s (swt) blessing
in this month, he is truly the deprived person.
DR. ZAKIR NAIK Q&A 8 ABOUT RAMADAN
Q. What should we do when Ramadan
approaches?
A. First thing we should do is to thank Allah
(swt) for making us witness this blessed
month once again. Thank him for his mercy
and ask for his forgiveness so that all our
previous sins are forgiven. And we have to
thank him for all the “niyamat” he has given
us and blessings and all the love. Allah says
in Quran (Surah Al-Baqara, Ch. 2, V. 185):
“Ramadan is the month in which Quran was
revealed as a guidance for mankind and signs
for guidance and judgment between right and
wrong.” And Allah firther says in the Quran
(Surah Al-Baqara, Ch. 2, V. 183): “O you who
believe, fasting was prescribed to you as it
was prescribed to people who came before you
so that you may learn self restrain.” Word
used is “tatakoon”. So that you learn God
Consciousness, piety, righteousness, “taqwa”
is increased. This is the month in which a
person can become more righteous. This is
the time when our “taqwa” can be at the
height. This month is a sort of annual
training. Like a machine requires servicing. If
you allow me to call a human being the most
complex machine in the world, doesn’t it need
servicing? It is spiritual and moral training for
human being. Purification of body, mind and
soul. Increase our taqwa, increase our
patience. And we can derive the benefits and
guidance from the Quran.
DR. ZAKIR NAIK Q&A 7 ABOUT RAMADAN
Q. What is the ruling on saying
“Ramadan Mubarak” as some say it is
“sunnah” and some say it is a
“bidah” (innovation)?
A. To welcome the month is good
‘alhumdulliah’ and prophet (saw) used to
inform the people about this blessed month.
Hadith (Musanand Ahmad, vol. 2, page 230,
hadith 7148, repeated in Sunan Al Nasai) “The
prophet (saw) always used to tell the people
when the month was approaching. “O people
the blessed month of Ramadan is approaching
you and Allah (swt) has prescribed you to fast
in this month. “Ramadan Mubarak” is mostly
said in Indian sub-continent, by the Indians
and Pakistanis. Mubarak means
“barakat” (blessing) as it is actually an Arabic
word. But when used by Indians or Pakistanis,
it is a type of congratulation. Like someone
passes an examination people congratulate by
saying “Mubarak” in Urdu. So when Ramadan
comes, they say “Ramadan Mubarak”.
According to me it not a “bidah” (innovation).
It is good they are calling this month a
blessed month. What word you choose is
“mubah” (optional) like in Indian subcontinent
people say “Ramadan Mubarak”, in gulf
countries people call it “Ramadan Karim”. So
all these words are good, holy month, blessed
month. So people should wish each other and
remind each other of this blessed month.

DR. ZAKIR NAIK Q&A 6
Q. Are there any mathematical contradictions in the Bible or Islam?
A. Regarding Islam – the Qur’an says in Surah Nisa, Chapter 4, Verse No.82 – ‘Do they not consider the Qur’an with care? – Had it been from anyone besides Allah, there would have been many contradictions.’ There is not a single.
Regarding more contradictions in the Bible – five minutes will be insufficient – Even if they give me 5 days, its difficult. Any way I will just mention a few. It is mentioned in the 2nd Kings, Chapter No.8, Verse No.26, it says that ‘Ahezia, he was 22 years old, when he began to reign.’
2nd Chronicles, Chapter No. 22, Verse No. 2, says that… ‘He was 42 years old, when he began to reign.’ Was he 22 years old, or was he 42 years old? – Mathematical contradiction.
Further more, in 2nd Chronicles, Chapter No. 21, Verse No. 20, it says that… ‘Joaram, the father of Ahezia, he reigned at the age of 32 – and he reigned for 8 years, and he died at the age of 40. Immediately… Ahezia became the next ruler at the age of 42. Father died at the age of 40 – Immediately son takes over, who is at the age of 42. How can a son, be two years older than the father?’ Believe me even… even in Hollywood film, you will not be able to produce it. In Hollywood film, you can produce a ‘unicorn ’ which I mentioned in my talk.
Unicorn… you can have Coccrodyasis, which the Bible speaks about, Concrodyasis and dragons and serpents. But in Hollywood you cannot even show a son, being two years older than the father. It cannot even be a miracle – Even in miracles; it is not possible – Impossible. In miracle, you can have a person being born of a virgin birth – but in miracle you cannot have a son being older than the father, by 2 years.
Further if you read – it is mentioned in the Bible, in 2nd Samuel Chapter No 24, Verse No 9, that… ‘The people that were involved in the battlefield.
It gives a list of these people, in 2nd Samuel, Chapter 24, Verse No. 9, and it says that…
‘People that took part 800 thousand of the men of Israel, took part – and 500 thousand of the men of Judah same.’ If you see other places, 1st Chronicle, Chapter 21, Verse No. 5, it says that… ‘1 million – Hundred thousand people took part in the battle field, from the men of Israel – and ten thousand four hundred and sixty men took part of Judah.’ Was it 800 thousand people who took part from the men of Israel, or was it 1 million – 100 thousand? Was it 5 lakh people of Judah that took part or 10,460? A clear-cut contradiction. Further more, it is mentioned in the Bible in 2nd Samuel, Chapter No. 6, Verse No 23, that… ‘Michael the daughter of Saul – she had no sons’ – 2nd Samuel’, Chapter 21, Verse No. 8… ‘Michael the daughter of Saul had 5 sons.’ One place it says… ‘No children, no son, no daughter’ – Other place… ‘5 sons.’ Further more if you read, it is mentioned in Gospel of Mathew, Chapter No. 1, Verse No. 16 – it says about the genealogy of Jesus Christ peace be upon him – as well as Luke Chapter No. 3, Verse No. 23, and it says that… Jesus’ father, that is Joseph – his father was Jacob’ – Mathew, Chapter 1, Verse 16. And Luke, Chapter No 3, Verse No 23… Jesus’ father… Joseph – his father was Hailey . Did Jesus’ father… Joseph, had two fathers ? What do you call a person who has got two fathers ? Or was it Hailey – or was it Jacob ? Clear-cut contradiction.
DR. ZAKIR NAIK Q&A 5
Q. In an effort to prove, the Qur’an is so heavily agreeable to modern science – what happens if modern science is wrong? Does the Qur’an always change, to reflect the changes in science?
A. That is a very good question – It is a very important question. And we Muslims should be very careful while being compatible with the Qur’an and modern science. Therefore I saidin the beginning of my talk – I will onlybe speaking about those scientific facts, which have been established. And a scientific fact, which has been established – for example, the earth is spherical – It can never go wrong.Established science can never take U-turns.But unestablished science like hypothesis and theories can take U-turns.I know Muslim scholars, who have tried to prove Darwin’s theory, from the Qur’an. Nonsense! So therefore, we should not go overboard, and try and prove everything of modern science. We have to be careful to check up whether it is established, or unestablished. If it is established,Alhamdulillah, with scientific proof, the Qur’an will never go against it.If it is hypothesis, it may be right, it may be wrong.Like ‘Big Bang’ theory – It was a hypothesis earlier – Earlier it was a hypothesis.Today after solid proof about the celestial matter… according to Stephen Hawking, etc., it is a fact. So Big Bang theory, today is a fact – Yesterday if was a hypothesis – Once it becomes a fact, I use it.You know there are hypothesis saying that… ‘Human beings have been created from a single pair of genes’ – Adam and Eve.I do not use it, because science has not established. It goes along with the Qur’an.It goes along with the Qur’an, that we have been evolved from one pair Adam and Eve, peace be upon them – But I do not use it, because that is not an established fact. So therefore, while bringing a co-relation between Qur’an and science, etc., see to it that you use only those scientific facts which have been established… and not hypothesis – because Qur’an is far superior to modern science. I am not trying to prove the Qur’an to be the word of God, with the help of science –No, not at all. What I am trying to do – For us Muslims, Qur’an is the ultimate criteria – For the Atheist and for the Non Muslims maybe, science may be the ultimate criteria. I am using the criteria… the yard stick of the Atheist, and comparing with the yard stick of the Muslims – The Qur’an.I am not trying to prove the Qur’an to be the word of God, with the help of science. What I am trying to do,when I bring a compatibility, and I show the superiority of Qur’an ? – That what your science has told us yesterday… Qur’an has told us 14 hundred years ago.I am trying to prove that our yard stick… the Muslim yardstick… the Qur’an, is far superior to your yard stick – The science. Therefore, you should believe in Qur’an, which is far superior – Hope that answers the question.
ISLAMIC FACTS
One in every five persons on this earth firmly believes that the Prophet Muhammad is the last Messenger of God. He was a Muslim and there are more than 1.3 billion such Muslims today. [Editor's Note: 1.6 billion as of 2010 ]
Not only individuals but entire countries take pride in declaring their allegiance to him. There are 54 such Muslim states today, ranging from those as large as Indonesia and Bangladesh, with populations of 200 and 125 million respectively, to those as tiny as the Maldives or Brunei with populations of 230,000 and 260,000. Even in non-Muslim countries, large Muslim populations constitute significant minorities; as much as 120 million in India and 20 million in China. Indeed, within the last half century, Islam, the religion brought by the Prophet Muhammad, has become the second largest religion in most European countries, as also in America and Canada.
Black and white, red and yellow, followers of the Prophet Muhammad come from all human races. Whether in Asia or Europe, Africa or America, in every nook and cranny of this globe, you are sure to find Muslims. They live in the most advanced, sprawling megalopolis as well as in the most primitive nomadic tent, village, hamlet, and even in the bush.
DR. ZAKIR NAIK Q&A 4
Q. Dr. Zakir, you said there is not any mistake in Qur’an. I see more than 20 mistakes in Arabic grammar, and I will tell you some of them. …(Arabic)… Which is right, Assabeun or Assabreen!
A. (Dr. Zakir ): The brother has asked a very good question. I would like to be more concordance – and agreeing, he has mentioned all 20 grammatical points. And the book he is referring to, “Is the Qur’an infallible by Abdul Faadi”.
I will answer all 20 together, because I have read the book – I will answer all 20, Insha Allah… Insha Allah. Point No. 1 to be noted – that all Arabic grammar is taken from the Qur’an. Qur’an was the highest Arabic book – A book which has the maximum level of highest literature. All the Arabic grammar has been derived from the Qur’an. Qur’an is the textbook of grammar. Since Qur’an is the textbook of grammar, and all the grammar is derived from the Qur’an, the Qur’an can never have a mistake. Point No. 2 – It is like, you know… taking a ruler, and the ruler is there… has a measurement, and your saying the measurement is wrong – It sounds illogical. In different Arabic tribes, the grammar keeps on changing. In some Arabic tribe, the word is feminine; the same word is even masculine in the other tribe. Same word in different tribes – the grammar keeps on changing – Even the gender keeps on changing. So will you check Qur’an, with that faulty grammar? – No! And further more, the eloquence of Qur’an is so high – It is so high, it is far superior. And you know there are various books – On the Internet you go, 12 grammatical mistakes, 21 grammatical mistakes – Abdul Faadi – 20 grammatical mistakes. Do you think the Christian people took out these mistakes? Who took out these mistakes? – Do you know who took out? The Muslims! The Muslim scholars like Zamak Sharif – what they did – that the Qur’an grammar is so high, that it goes against the conventional use of the Arabic. The Qur’an grammar is so high – To prove the Qur’anic grammar was high, they gave examples. And I will give you a couple of examples, which will answer all his 20 questions. They gave the example – like we read in the Qur’an, it says that… ‘The people of Lut Alaihis salaam, they rejected all the messengers.’ ‘They rejected the messengers’… it is mentioned. Dr. William Campbell said… ‘The people of Noah – they rejected the messengers.’ We know from history that there was only one messenger sent to them – So it has a grammatical mistake. Qur’an should have said – The people rejected the
‘messenger’ not ‘messengers.’ I agree with you – with layman grammar like how you and I know, it may be a mistake. But if you read the books written by Arabs – What is the beauty of the Qur’an? The beauty of the Qur’an is – Why does the Qur’an refer ‘messengers’, instead of
‘messenger’? You know why? Because we know that the basic message of all the messengers, was same – That there is one God – About
Tawheed – About Allah Subhanawataala . By mentioning, the people of Lut alaihis salaam… the people of Noah, rejected the messenger – It says, by rejecting Lut alahis salaam, they are indirectly rejecting all the messengers.’
See the beauty, see the eloquence…
Alhamdulillah! (Praise be to Allah) You may think it is a mistake – It is not a mistake.
Similarly, people like Anis Shorrosh says, that Qur’an says … ‘Qun fa ya Qun …Be and it is’ – It should be ‘Qun fa qaana ’ – ‘Be’ and it was.
Agreed – Past tense is Qun fa Qaana in Arabic – it is not Qun fa ya Qun. But the Qun fa ya Qun is more superior – It says… Allah – it was, it is, and can do – Past, present and future.
DR. ZAKIR NAIK Q&A 3
Q. Dr. Naik, I am Advocate Madhav Phadhke – you said in your speech that God is alive, imageless and formless, as stated in Hinduism. Then why you Muslims doing Haj Pilgrim – they worship Holy shrine, as the Hindus they worship?
A. (Dr. Zakir): That is a very good question the brother has posed – that if Almighty God has got no image in Islam – Allah (swt) no form…then why do the Muslims – they worship the Holy Shrine…referring to the Kabah – in Haj Pilgrimage ? Brother, it is a misconception – No Muslim ever worships the Kaba – It is a misconception among the Non-Muslims, that we Muslims, we worship the Kabah. No Muslim worships the Kabah – we only worship Allah (swt), Who we cannot see in this world. What we do is, the Kabah is the Qibla – Qibla in Arabic means ‘The direction.’ Kabah is the
Qibla, because we Muslims – We believe in unity, always unity. For example, if we want to pray to Almighty God… Allah (swt) – If we have to offer Salaah, some may say… ‘Let us face the North ; some may say…‘Let us face South’ ; some may say…‘East’ ; some say…‘West’. Where do we face? We believe in unity – So for unity, all the Muslims throughout the world, they are asked to face in the direction of the Qibla, that…is the Kabah – it is our direction – We do not worship it. And the first people who drew the world map, were the Muslims – and when the Muslims drew the world map, they drew with the South pole on top, and North pole down – and Kabah was in the center. The Westerners came and they turned the map upside down – North pole on top, South pole down.
Alhamdulillah, yet the Kabah is in the center – Mecca is in the center. And since Mecca is in the center, any Muslim in any part of the world – if he is staying in North of Kabah, he faces towards the South; If he is staying in the South of Kabah, he faces towards the North. All the Muslims throughout the world, they face in one direction. Kabah is the Qibla… it is the direction – No Muslim ever worships it – No Muslim ever worships it. And when we go for Haj… to the pilgrimage, we circumambulate round the
Kabah . We circumambulate around the Kabah, because everyone knows, that all circles have only one center – So we circumambulate round the Kabah , to testify that there is only one God – not because we worship it. And the statement of the second Khalifa of Islam, Hazrat Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, he said – it is mentioned in Sahih Muslim , in the book of Haj, Volume No. 2 – he said, Hazrat Umar may Allah be pleased with him, that… ‘I am kissing the black stone, that is the Kabah… Sange Aswad, only because my Prophet kissed it – otherwise this black stone can neither harm me, neither can it benefit me’ . The second Khalifa of Islam… Caliph of Islam, Hazrat Umar, may Allah be pleased with him – he made it clear for eternity, that no Muslim ever worships the black stone – it can neither benefits us, neither can it harm us. And the best example is that, during the time of the Prophet – the Sahabas… the companions of the Prophet, they even stood on the Kabah, and gave the Adhan – Adhan is the call for prayers. People stood on the Kabah, and gave the Adhan . I am asking you…‘Which idol worshipper, will ever stand on the idol he worships.’So these are sufficient proofs, that no Muslim ever worships the Kabah . Kabah is the
Qibla – and we worship only Allah (swt), Who we cannot see with the eyes. Hope that answers the question.
DR. ZAKIR NAIK Q&A 2
Q. The Bible says… ‘When Jonah was 3 days and 3 nights in the belly of the fish, so shall the son of man, be for 3 days and 3 nights in the heart of the earth.’ Did Jesus peace be upon him, scientifically fulfill the sign of Jonah?
A. (Dr. Zakir): What the sister is referring to, is the verse of the Bible, Gospel of Mathew, Chapter No 12, Verse No. 38 and 40, ‘when people asked Jesus Christ (peace be upon him)… ‘Show me a sign, show me a miracle’. Jesus Christ (peace be upon him), says… ‘You evil and adulteration’s generation, seeketh after a sign, no sign shall be given to you, but the sign of Jonah. For as Jonah was 3 days and 3 nights in the belly of the whale, so shall the son of man be 3 days and 3 nights, in the heart of the earth’– Sign of Jonah.Jesus Christ peace be upon him, puts all his eggs in one basket. And if you go to the sign of Jonah… the book of Jonah is less than 2 pages, and most of us know. And if you analyze, that Jonah was 3 days and 3 nights – but Jesus Christ peace be upon him, we know from the Gospels, that he was put on the cross – the alleged crucification.By late evening, he was brought down from the cross and put in a sepulchre – And on Sunday morning if you see, the stone is moved away, and the sepulchre is completely empty. So Jesus Christ peace be upon him, is in the tomb, on Friday night.’He was there in Saturday morning, one day, one night. And he was there Saturday night – so two nights and one day.And Sunday morning the tomb was empty. So Jesus Christ peace be upon him, was there for two nights, and one day – It is not 3days and 3 nights.Dr. William Campbell gives the reply in his book, that… ‘You know, part of the day can be counted as one day – And if a patient comes to me, who is sick on Saturday night – on Monday morning, and if I ask him… ‘How long are you sick for ? ’He will say… ‘ 3 days.’I agree with you – Concordance approach, I agree – I am very generous. You say part of the day, is full day – I agree with you.So Saturday night, part of the day – one day.Sunday, part of the day, full day – one – good.Monday part of the day full day – no problem. If patient says… ‘3 days’ – No objection. But no patient will ever say… ‘3 days and 3 nights.’I challenge.I have Alhamdulillah, met various patients – I have not come across a single patient, including Christian missionaries, who have ever told to me – who were sick in the night, day before yesterday, saying… ‘I am sick for 3 days, 3 nights.’So Jesus Christ peace be upon him, did not say… ‘3 days’ – Jesus Christ peace be upon him said… ‘3 days and 3 nights.’So it is a mathematical error – Scientifically, Jesus Christ peace be upon him, did not prove. And further more, the prophecy says… ‘As Jonah was, so shall the son of man be.’Jonah was – How?How was Jonah in the belly of the Whale?… Belly of the fish… Dead or alive?Alive – When he was thrown over board, he was alive. In the belly of the whale, he goes around the ocean, dead or alive? – Alive. He prays to Almighty God… dead or alive ? – Alive! He is vomited out on the seashore – Dead of alive?Alive, alive, alive, alive. When I ask the Christians… ‘How was Jesus Christ peace be upon him, in the sepulchre… in the tomb – Dead of alive?’They tell me… ‘Dead.’ If he is dead, he has not fulfilled the sign. You can refer to my video cassette ‘Was Jesus Christ peace be upon him really crucified ?’ – I have proved that Jesus Christ peace be upon him was not crucified. As the Qur’an says in Surah Nisa, Chapter 4, Verse No. 157… (Arabic) …‘They did not kill him, neither did they crucify him – It was only made to appear so.’

DR. ZAKIR NAIK Q&A
Q. You have differentiated Hinduism, Islam and Christianity. In all three Religions, there is good things for brotherhood – You have not explained brotherhood in Hinduism, brotherhood in Christianity?
A.(Dr. Zakir):The brother said that I have spoken good things about Islam…Universal Brotherhood– I have not spoken good things about Hinduism and Christianity. I did speak certain good things – I did not speak everything about brotherhood in Hinduism and Christianity, because people may not be able to digest it here. These things what I am saying, people cannot digest – I have to be patient. I know Christianity, I have studied the Bible; I have studied the Hindu Scripture ; if I speak on that – I am not here to create a rift. What I am here, to talk about the communalities – so what is common I spoke. Hinduism says…‘Do not rob’ – Christianity says…‘Do not rob’ – do not molest… do not rape’ – fine. Other things on brotherhood– do you know, just a sample I am giving you – Jesus Christ (pbuh) said – it is mentioned in the Gospel of Matthew, Ch. No. 10, V. No. 5 to 6 – It says…I am quoting Chapter No., Verse No., quoting – there is no two doubts about it. He told the Apostles that…‘Go ye not in the way of the Gentiles – But rather go to the lost sheep of the house of Israel’.Who are the Gentiles? The Non Jews, the Hindus, the Christians… they are the Gentiles. ‘Do not throw pearls before pigs’… he calls us a pig – And you want me to speak about that? Jesus Christ (pbuh) says in the Gospel of Matthew, Ch. No. 15, V. No. 24 – he says that...‘I have not been sent but, to the lost sheep of the house of Israel’. I am quoting – Chapter No., Verse Number. So this means that, Religion is meant for the Jews – not for the whole Universe. In other Religions, the believe in monasticism… in monasticism. If you have to come closer to God, you have to renounce the world… you have to renounce the world – Most of the Major Religions… Hinduism says that…Christianity says that…‘To come closer to God, you have to renounce the world’. Qur’an says in Surah Hadith, Ch. 57, V. No. 27, that…‘It is against Monasticism’.Monasticism is not allowed in Islam – Our beloved Prophet said…‘There is no Monasticism’. It is mentioned in Sahih Bukhari, Vol. No. 7, in the Book of Nikah, Ch. No. 3, H. No. 4…‘O young people, whoever has the means to get married, should get married’–Hadith says that. If I agree, that if you renounce the world, you came closer to Almighty God – and if every human being renounces the world today, then within a span of 100 to 150 years, there will not be a single human being alive in this world. If every one practices this law throughout the world, where is the Universal Brotherhood? Therefore brother, I am only come to talk about the good points – Unless you want to have knowledge about other Religions – it is my job – I have to speak the truth. Qur’an says in Surah Isra, Ch. No. 17, V. No. 81 …(Arabic)…‘When truth is hurled against falsehood, falsehood perishes, for falsehood is by its nature, bound to perish’.Hope that answers the question.
ZAKIR NAIK SPEECH
"... the feminine attitude can also have an effect on the witness in a murder case. In such circumstances awoman is more terrified as compared to a man. Due to her emotional condition she can get confused. Therefore, two female witnesses are equivalent to one male witness."
THE MIRACLE OF 19
Verse 74:30
Some Muslims and Submitters[1] believe that
Qur'an 74:30 is proof that the occurrence of
observed "19" related facts in Islam is a
confirmation of the truth of the religion:
Over it is nineteen
Qur'an 74:30
These are actually the number of angels in
Hell , as the next Qur'anic ayat demonstrates:
And We have set none but angels as
Guardians of the Fire; and We have fixed
their number only as a trial for Unbelievers
Qur'an 74:31
Analysis
Bismillah Miracle
Some Muslims like to claim that the
"Bismillah", a very important phrase in Islam
with the translation of "In the name of Allah,
the beneficent, the merciful" , has magical
meanings due to its many 19-related facts.
We will demonstrate below that any other
"bismillah" can also produce the proof of a
'miracle'.

One problem with the phenomena of the 19
miracle is that there are no defined rules as to
what constitutes a miracle and what does not.
With this distinct lack of rules, the "miracle" of
nineteen can exist in any phrase, even anti-
Islamic ones.
According to the Muslim standards applied to
miracles, this new bismillah, "In the name of
Allah, the Evil, the Savage" , is miraculous.
This is only the beginning. 19 miracles have
been found about this new bismillah, but more
experimenting will undoubtedly lead to more
miracles.

Questions to Believers of the 19 Miracle
1. Can the Qur'an be corrupted, and has it
been corrupted before?
2. How do you explain the fact that Rashad's
translation is the only one to include his
own name within the Qur'an itself, at least
8 times, whereas no other translation in
the entire history of Islam, makes even a
hint let alone a mention of anyone (even a
messenger) to come after Muhammad?
3. Why are there so many Qur'ans, including
the Arabic ones, that do not include
Rashad in them?
4. Why are there extra verses in the other
translations whereas Rashad cut them out
(e.g. 9:128 & 129)?
WORD COUNT MIRACLE IN QURAN
Selective Choice of Words Used
The first one is the selective choice of words to
interpret as miracles. If for a certain word
there exists a nice number of repetitions, then
it is mentioned and included as a miracle. If
no nice number of repetitions exist, it is not
mentioned and discarded. By only mentioning
the instances where there are "nice
repetitions" one gets the impression that there
is something special about it, while
statistically the same probability of finding
similar "miracles" exists in all texts.
Selective Choice of Grammatical Forms
Counted
The second way of manipulating data is the
selective choice of which Arabic grammatical
forms are to be counted. Are just singular
forms counted? Or also plural forms? Duals?
Forms with or without prefix? And so on. By
choosing different ways of counting, you get a
lot of different results. Of course, those who
claim there are "word repetition miracles in
the Qur'an" will not tell you that they have
chosen a specific way of counting words to get
the desired result.
The 365 days Maths Miracle [ edit]
One of the most popular claims is that the
word "yawm" (singular of day) is repeated 365
times in the Qur'an, its plural and dual forms
"days" (ayyam and yawmayn) together are
repeated 30 times, while the number of
repetitions of the word "month" (shahar) is 12.
Analysis
Islamic Miracle Using Christian Calendar
The first flaw with this claim is the fact that
the Islamic calendar consists of 354 or 355
days a year,[1] so these apologists are
effectively favoring Christianity by their use of
the Gregorian calendar, which consists of 365
or 366 days.
Manipulated Data
These counts are manipulated, generally in
unstated ways, to produce the desired totals.
Most individuals will not take the time needed
to count and verify the claim themselves, so
they may assume on good faith that it is true.
When you check with word count software, the
total "yawm" concordance finds 475 mentions,
not 365. However, this includes the dual and
plural forms. Of all the different forms of
"yawm," 3 are in the dual and 27 are in the
plural. [2] If you have a database program with
easy formats you can easily counter this lie
too and find out that all forms with suffixes
are discarded on Islamic websites.
Furthermore, the word yawm in most of its
occurrences in the Qur'an does not mean a 24
hour day. For example, the Day of Judgment
is mentioned a very large number of times in
different ways.
Burden of Proof
We could claim that the word " Allah" has been
mentioned 666 times on WikiIslam and
therefore Islam is false (since in some cultures,
666 represents the number of the devil). If we
cannot list all the occurrences of the word by
showing where it occurs for each of those 666
times, then our claim is unproven. There is not
a single website that lists all the occurrences
of the word "day" in the Qur'an showing it to
be 365 times.
Conclusion
There is no miracle to be found here.
Apologists have manipulated data and used
an un-Islamic method of counting days within
a year to make the (unverified) numbers "fit".
But let's say for a moment the 365
occurrences of the word "yawm" is a
mathematically sound citation. If this was
discovered at a time when people did not
know how many days there were in a year
then it may be considered a miracle, but
calenders have existed since 3000 BC, and the
Julian calendar (which consisted of 365 or
366 days) began in 45 BC. [3]
This is one of the most oft-quoted but there
are more such dubious mathematical claims
but they are equally deceitful. But putting that
aside, even if day or yawm was mentioned 365
times in the Qur'an, would that mean it is
from Allah?

GOD IN ISLAM
Islam's fundamental theological concept is tawhīd—the belief that there is only one god. The Arabic term for Godis Allāh; most scholars believe it was derived from a contraction of the words al- (the) and ʾilāh (deity, masculine form), meaning "the god" (al-ilāh), but others trace its origin to the Aramaic Alāhā. The first of the Five Pillars of Islam, tawhīd is expressed in the shahadah (testification), which declares that there is no god but ALLAH, and that Muhammad is God's messenger. In traditional Islamic theology, God is beyond all comprehension; Muslims are not expected to visualize God but to worship and adore him as a protector. Although Muslims believe that Jesus was a prophet, they reject the Christian doctrine of the Trinity, making it to polytheism. In Islamic theology, Jesus was just a man and not the son of God; God is described in a chapter (sura) of the Qur'an as "…God, the One and Only; God, the Eternal, Absolute; He begettethnot, nor is He begotten; And there is none like unto Him."
CONCEPT OF ISLAMIC PEACE
Islam is monotheistic religion and according to Quran all the people are children of Adam. Satan is considered as enemy of the whole humanity to cause enmity among all people. The series of prophets and messengers coming from God through out the ages is to call the people again towards their real identity of love and friendship. The good life according to Islam is in submitting to God and in worshiping Him as The Creator and The Master andto recognize the true nature of man.The individual who will recognize his true nature on which every person is createdwill be able to live together in society with peace and affection to each other. In his Last Sermon, the Prophet Muhammad admonished believers:
* "Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you."Jeffrey Wattles holds that the compassion appears in the following statements attributed to Muhammad:
* “Woe to those . . . who, when they have to receive by measure from men, exact full measure, but when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due”
* The Qur'an commends "those who show their affection to such as came to them for refuge and entertain no desire in their hearts for things given to the (latter), but give them preference over themselves"
* “None of you [truly] believes until he wishes for his brother what he wishes for himself.”
* "Seek for mankind that of which you are desirous for yourself, that you may be a believer; treat well as a neighbor the one who lives near you, that you may be a Muslim [one who submits to God]."
* “That which you want for yourself, seek for mankind.”[8]
* "The most righteous of men is the one who is glad that men should have what is pleasing to himself, and who dislikes for them what is for him disagreeable."
RULES FOR PEACE
Islamic tradition dictates that prophets were sent by God to every nation. In Islam, only Muhammad was sent finally to convey God's message to the whole world, whereas other prophets were sent to convey their messages to aspecific group of people or nation. So the ideal nationhood in Islam is beyond all boundaries and differences. Prophet Muhammad is the final messenger according to Islam and his nation or ummah is called Ummat e Muhammad (nation of Muhammad). The establishment of ummah (the Islamic community) on earth based on the rules of shariah is the ultimate goal of Islam according to the jurisprudential approach.[9] The ummah is not confined to any particular geography, or limited to any specific race; rather it consists of all believers throughout the world from whatever background, language, creed, history or geography. Unlike race, language, history and other such involuntary criteria in nationhood, where the individual has no choice and nationalism and patriotism ask for allegiance to a particular nation and state not chosen by him/her, ummah arms the individual by allowing a choice to be made by him/her in joiningor rejecting it. It is therefore a consciousand informed choice that establishes ummah and allegiance to it rather than non-voluntary factors as in nationhood.
MEDIA AND ISLAM
Islam, today, is the most misunderstood religion. It bears the brunt of misconceptions and hate propaganda. The powerful mass media, aligned to deceitful political and corporate interests, spreads these misconceptions virulently... worldwide. While portraying Islam, integrity and reliability are bypassed by the media with professional charm and finesse.Wise and apt Islamic viewpoints are seldom covered in the mainstream media, whereas aberrations by a few misled Muslims are highlighted.Muslims hardly have any hold or influence on major media, especially TV. They instead, exhibit an apologetic attitude and an inferiority complex.
